The development of sustainable and environmentally friendly polymer materials is one of the most current requirements for polymer science and engineering. Plant-based polymers are increasingly preferred as a platform to meet this need, thanks to their adjustable properties and wide application areas. In recent years, a large number of plant-based polyesters have emerged for the preparation of plant-based monomers. To reduce the industry's dependence on petroleum-based resources, vegetable-based polyesters can be considered as a sustainable alternative.
As KFS, we produce eco-efficiency single and multi-filament yarn made from plant-based components of partially renewable origin. Compared to Nylon6, our plant-based products use 30% less energy and emit 63% less greenhouse gas emissions. It is primarily used in single filament applications, including apparel and home textiles, office and automotive interiors, residential and commercial carpets and automotive mats. Multi-filament is used for comfortable stretch knitwear and woven materials with soft, flexible and stain-resistant properties. It does not contain elastane, providing exceptional stretch and recovery even after prolonged use and washing.
